The globally popular WhatsApp platform supports the option of backing up user data to the cloud in both mobile versions. However, while iCloud offers a limited amount of storage on Apple devices, Google Drive provides unlimited space for WhatsApp backups. However, this could change in the near future.

WhatsApp specialist website WABetaInfo came across a string of codes in the app that explicitly refer to Google Drive limits. What Google Drive will limit for WhatsApp is unknown at this time, but we hope it won't count towards the free 15GB limit.

This news comes a few months after the same website spotted an upcoming feature on WhatsApp that would let users androidThis version will allow you to manage the size of your backups. The feature will allow you to exclude certain types of files from backups, such as photos, videos or documents.

The fact that deposits in androidIt wouldn't be a complete surprise that the latest version of WhatsApp had a new limit on Google Drive. Unlimited free storage for the Google Photos app ended last year, so it's possible that Google's latest move is part of its push to push paid storage plans.
