Counterpoint Research has published its annual report on the European smartphone market. It shows that last year sales increased by 2020% compared to 8. This is encouraging, but the market has still not returned to pre-pandemic levels (sales in 2020 were 2019% lower than in 14).

The biggest player in the European smartphone market in 2021 was Samsung, with sales increasing by 6% year-on-year and now holding a share of 32%. The Korean giant was especially helped by its new "puzzles" for this result Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3. He placed himself behind him Apple, which saw sales increase by 25% year-on-year and now has a 26% share. Xiaomi finished in third place with a share of 20%, which represents year-on-year growth of 50%.

On the first "non-medal" rank was another Chinese manufacturer Oppo, which has an 8% share and which recorded a 94% year-on-year growth, the Chinese predator Realme finished fifth, which "bite off" a 2% share, while growing by 162% year-on-year , and the top six of the largest smartphone manufacturers on the old continent is closed with a 1% share of Vivo, which saw sales increase by 207% year-on-year - the most of all.

Counterpoint Research believes that this year the European smartphone market could experience the "toughest" competition yet - the established manufacturers could be "flooded" by brands such as Honor, Motorola or Nokia, which have been experiencing a recent revival.
