SOCIETY Apple has become the leader of the tablet market also thanks to the fact that it lacks competition from manufacturers of products with the system Android. Despite the wide availability of cheap tablets such as Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, people still gravitate towards iPads. The data obtained by IDC, which is engaged in market research, simply confirms the company's hegemony Apple above its competition. But Samsung is not giving up.

In Q4 2021, the company delivered Apple 17,5 million tablets and gained a 38% market share. That's down from last year's 19,1 million, but it's still a pretty impressive number. In second place is Samsung with 7,3 million tablets and a 15,9% market share. They are followed by Lenovo, Amazon and Huawei, which sold 4,6 million, 3,6 million and 2,5 million units, respectively. Overall, the number of tablets sold in the 4th quarter of 2021 was lower than in 2020. This is due to the saturation of the market, when last year many tablets equipped the whole family and employees due to mandated home offices, quarantines, etc.

If we look at the whole year 2021, so Apple sold nearly 57,8 million iPads, followed by Samsung, which shipped 30,9 million units. Lenovo and Amazon follow closely behind, nothing for a long time, and then there's Huawei. However, his place in the top five is certainly an achievement given the imposition of various sanctions.

And now the ace of Samsung. His upcoming series Galaxy The Tab S8 has the necessary hardware to compete with Apple's iPads. Advice Galaxy In addition, the Tab S7 was already released in 2020, when last year Samsung introduced only its FE version. So customers could be hungry for a new high-end range of tablets with Androidem, while the Ultra model in particular will stand out with its specifications. Unfortunately, there are two caveats. Samsung may not be able to produce enough of them due to ongoing restrictions in the distribution network. And if so, there is always the risk that the pieces that do make it to the market could end up sitting on store shelves because of their exorbitant price.
