Although some Microsoft Office advocates will tell you otherwise, Google's suite of productivity apps is more than adequate for most users. Whether you're a student pulling an all-nighter to finish last-minute work or keeping track of your finances with a carefully curated spreadsheet, this one of Google Drive's many tools is fully at your disposal. While Google Slides isn't as popular as Docs or Sheets, it seems like it's slowly catching up.

Indeed, the Google Slides app has just crossed the one billion install mark on Google Play, indicating that it has become an important title for a truly significant number of users. It's the last of Drive's main "trilogy" of apps to hit that mark, following Google Docs in October 2020 and Google Sheets in July 2021.

Compared to the company's other titles, there haven't been any significant changes or innovations released in the Presentation app recently. Even last year before the official launch Androidhowever, in 12, the Material You app got a redesign and its buttons were renamed Present na Slideshow, so that users don't get confused with a similarly labeled button in the Meet app. The club of billion installations is thus expanding again. Alongside its productivity peers, Slides joins apps like Telegram, YouTube Music, and yes, Microsoft PowerPoint, which hit the milestone two years ago.
