A few days after the YouTube channel PBKreviews tested the durability of the basic model of the series Galaxy S22, also "brought a show" to its highest model – the S22 Ultra. How did you do in the "torture" tests?

Unsurprisingly, the first test, which determined water resistance for one minute, did not fail the new Ultra - just like the other models, it has IP68 certification, which guarantees that it can withstand immersion to a depth of up to 1,5 m for up to half an hour.

However, a certain surprise was brought by the test that checked the scratch resistance. The phone was scratched (albeit only lightly) from level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, while the basic model was only scratched from level 8. This is surprising because all models in the series received the same Gorilla Glass Victus+ display protection. The fact that, unlike the others, it has a curved display may be behind the greater susceptibility to scratches of the highest model.

The frame, the SIM tray, the camera rings and the top of the S Pen are all made of aluminum. The ultrasonic fingerprint reader continues to work flawlessly despite deep scratches. Bending the phone from both sides leaves no marks.

The last test was rather brutal – the YouTuber let the new Ultra (lying with the display facing down) run over with a car. Result? Just a few scratches on the screen, no structural damage. Overall, the S22 Ultra scored a really high 9,5/10 in the durability test.
