After the first testing in May of last year, i.e. in the beta version of the system Android 12, the progress of new app installations is now displayed on the Google Play home screen. This thus mimics the function iOS and previously it was limited to restoring from a system backup only Android. The second innovation that Google borrows from Apple is informace about the minimum system requirement.

After clicking the green "Install" button in Google Play, you will see a black and white icon on your desktop with a clearly visible circle around it showing the installation process and the text "Downloading" below it. At this moment, you can also position the icon in the place where you want it to be placed later. When you click on the icon, it will redirect you to Google Play on the title tab. Here you can, for example, cancel the installation.

This installation preview is only available for new titles, not updates. It should be available already for all users device with Androidem 11, although support for different models may vary, especially depending on the manufacturer's superstructure. This feature is on iOS for a number of years, where multiple downloads of content from the App Store also work, with the ability to prioritize or stop downloads by tapping or holding the icon, as well as showing the progress of updates.

Minimum system requirements

Google also now indicates which version of the system Android is required to install the application. This informace has long been available on the web Google Play, although they are often only found here informace of the "Varies by device" type. Informace but in the mobile store it is more specific because it knows the APK variants.

To find out the minimum operating system support Android for a given application or game, just click on it in Google Play and select the menu About this application / About this game. If you then scroll all the way down, you will find it here informace about the title, i.e. not only version, update date and size but also a mention of Android OS. The display of minimum operating system requirements is, of course, only additional and possibly unnecessary information on the part of Google. The Play Store automatically and based on various factors, including the current version of the system in use Android filters the apps you can see on your device. The situation is similar Apple in his iOS.
