One of the new models Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra support fast 45W charging. However, an analysis of the speeds indicates that the increase in performance and thus the speed of the charging itself does not actually bring any extra advantage.
Samsung not only on its website, but also in some advertisements, states that Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy The S22 Ultra can be charged at a speed of 45 W. This, of course, without finding the appropriate adapter in their packaging that would allow you to use this speed. This year, adapters were even removed from the packaging of the entire series Galaxy Table S8. Editors from GSMArenas to charge new phones Galaxy they looked a little closer and found some pretty surprising results. It turned out that in the models Galaxy The S22+ and S22 Ultra don't really benefit from charging at 45W.
During the 30-minute charging test, the model Galaxy Charged the S22+ from zero to 25% connected to a 62W charger. However, when connected to a 45W charger, it only reached 64% in the same time. Galaxy The S22 Ultra charged from 0% to 61% in the first case, but only to 60% when using the 45W charger. On the 65W charger, it then charged a little faster and reached 65%. These results are particularly interesting given that Galaxy The S22+ has a smaller battery compared to the Ultra model.
If you look at the total charging time, there is practically no difference in it either. Galaxy The S22 Ultra charged from 45% to 0% in 100 minutes on a 59W charger, the S22+ charged to 100% in 61 minutes using the same adapter. Switching to the 25W charger, the S22 Ultra took 64 minutes to fully charge, while the S22+ took 62 minutes. When using the 65W charger of this model Galaxy The S22 Ultra took 62 minutes to fully charge.

The conclusion that can be drawn from these results is quite clear. Although Samsung claims that these phones can be charged at 45W, there is no significant effect on the speed of charging itself compared to 25W charging, even for short intervals. We don't know what cables were used for charging, but it's just a detail that shouldn't drastically affect the results.
