If you're thinking about buying a commercially successful flexible phone, the first brand that comes to mind is undoubtedly Samsung. The latter has unswervingly ruled this market for some time, which has now been confirmed by the numbers published by the well-known analyst in the field of mobile displays Ross Young.

According to Young, who cited a new report from displaysupplychain.com, Samsung's share of the "jigsaw" market (in terms of shipments) was 88% last year. This is two percentage points more than in 2021.

This year-on-year increase is notable as new players (mainly Chinese) appeared in this field last year. All this indicates that the future of foldable smartphones will definitely be interesting. The site's report also revealed that the two best-selling flip phones of last year were – unsurprisingly – Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3. In addition, the Korean smartphone giant had four "benders" in the "top five".

With new players entering the foldable smartphone market, competition is sure to increase in this new segment of smartphones. And that will be good not only for Samsung, which has little to compete with, but also for customers, who will have a wider choice.
