For more than a decade, Samsung has allowed users and musicians alike to personalize the classic Over the Horizon ringtone. With each new release of the series Galaxy With comes the opportunity for contemporary artists to remix a song to reflect the current mood of an ever-changing world.
When the series is released Galaxy With S22, Samsung went even further, as it also presented for the first time a new version of the melody, together with an animated video clip, which is supposed to capture the feelings of today (into which, of course, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has not yet had time to project itself). The latest version with the theme "New World" is supposed to breathe new life primarily into the post-pandemic world, which is depicted here through jazztronic music and soulful illustrations.
The melody defining the year 2022 is the responsibility of the American producer Kiefer Shackelford, the music video, on the other hand, was created by Phil Beaudreau, a Grammy Award nominee (you can watch it above). "You have five to ten seconds to add a spark to everyone's day, and I hope this upbeat and brooding tune can do that," said Shackelford. And it's true, this year's version of the Over the Horizon ringtone is really upbeat. Samsung also published a video about the creation of this feat. You can watch it below.
