At the ongoing MWC 2022, Qualcomm presented the new Snapdragon X70 5G modem, which boasts several very interesting features. Samsung's next flagship phones could use it Galaxy S23 and other top models of 2023.

The new Snapdragon X70 5G modem is built on the 4nm manufacturing process and will be integrated into the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that will be launched later this year.

What is interesting about it is that it has the same download speed as the previous generation Snapdragon X65, X60, X55 and X50 modems, i.e. 10 GB/s. Instead of increasing this number, Qualcomm has equipped the modem with several advanced features and artificial intelligence capabilities. In addition, the company says the Snapdragon X70 5G is the world's only comprehensive 5G radio frequency modem system with a built-in AI processor. Among other things, this processor is there to help with signal coverage or adaptive antenna tuning for up to 30% better context detection.

In addition, the Snapdragon X70 5G offers a data transfer speed of 3,5 GB/s, 3% higher energy efficiency thanks to PowerSave Gen 60 technology, and is also the world's first commercial 5G modem that supports every commercial band from 500 mAh to 41 GHz.
