Samsung has been the undisputed ruler in the field of flexible phones for quite some time now. Especially the current "puzzles" were a great success Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3. Its competitors in this field are mainly Xiaomi and Huawei, but their flexible devices still lag behind Samsung's in terms of quality (and moreover, they are mainly available only in China). Now it has become clear that another strong Chinese player could enter this market this year, namely OnePlus.

OnePlus, or rather its software chief Gary Chen, hinted at this in an interview with the website Android Central. Specifically, Chen said that the upcoming flagship and flexible smartphones will take advantage of new features that will be introduced with Oxygen OS 13.

Oxygen OS 13 will be launched along with Androidem 13 this fall and will bring all essential features Androidat 12L. These features will make the upcoming system from OnePlus suitable for devices with large displays, such as foldable smartphones. The company's first flexible phone could theoretically be unveiled this year. However, Samsung should already be preparing its news for the summer, so the question will be whether OnePlus wants to overtake it.
