Samsung, or rather its most important division, Samsung Electronics, appears to have been the target of a hacking attack that leaked a large amount of confidential data. The hacker group Lapsus$ claimed responsibility for the attack.

Specifically, the bootloader source code for all recently introduced Samsung devices, the algorithms for all biometric unlocking operations, the source code for the Korean giant's activation servers, the complete source code for the technologies used to verify Samsung accounts, the source code for hardware cryptography and access control, or the secret source code of Qualcomm, which supplies mobile chipsets to Samsung. In total, almost 200 GB of confidential data was leaked. According to the group, it split into three compressed files, which are now available in torrent form on the Internet.

If the name of the hacking group Lapsus$ is familiar to you, you are not wrong. Indeed, the same hackers recently attacked the giant in the field of graphics cards Nvidia, stealing almost 1 TB of data. Among other things, the group demanded that she turn off the LHR (lite hash rate) feature on her "graphics" to fully unlock their cryptocurrency mining potential. It is not known at the moment if he is demanding anything from Samsung as well. The company has not yet commented on the incident.
