YouTube developers Vanced have announced that their popular alternative client for the world's largest video platform is ending, citing a legal threat from Google as the reason. They specified that the project will be terminated in the coming days and the links to download the application will also be removed.

If you haven't heard of YouTube Vanced, it's popular android, a third-party app that gained popularity primarily because it allows YouTube users to block all advertising on the platform without having to subscribe to YouTube Premium. In addition, it also offers PiP (picture in picture), full-fledged dark mode, Force HDR mode, background playback function and other customization options that the official YouTube app for Android he can't brag.

The creator of the app sent a letter to Google to terminate it, threatening them with legal consequences if the app "goes forward". According to the developers, they were asked to change the logo and remove all mentions of YouTube as well as all links related to the platform's products. In addition, they informed that the current application can work for about two more years, after which the mentioned YouTube Premium subscription will be its only alternative.
