Already tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, Samsung is going to present its new mid-range smartphones to the public. It should be models Galaxy A33 5G, Galaxy A53 5G a Galaxy A73 5G, when at least two of these smartphones are expected to be equipped with the Exynos 1280 chip. And although the company has not yet officially revealed it, its main specifications have already been leaked to the public.

The Exynos 1280 chipset, codenamed S5E8825, features two ARM Cortex-A78 processor cores clocked at 2,4GHz, six ARM Cortex-A55 processor cores clocked at 2GHz and an ARM Mali-G68 processor with four cores clocked at 1 MHz. If used with a model Galaxy The A53 5G should come with 6GB of RAM.

The chipset is also said to be manufactured using a 5nm manufacturing process (presumably by Samsung Foundry). Its specifications are very similar to the MediaTek Dimensity 900, and it is therefore a really powerful chipset, whose gaming performance is close to the Snapdragon 778G, which is used in Galaxy A52s 5G. In fact, however, the clock frequency of the Exynos 1280 GPU is higher than MediaTek's solution, which is only 900 MHz, so the novelty could bring even better gaming performance (unless society artificially stifles it).

Since throughout the title Galaxy The A53 also includes the necessary 5G designation, the Exynos 1280 is expected to be equipped with a proper modem as well as various connectivity features such as Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6 and GPS. Other upcoming mid-range phones from Samsung could eventually use the Exynos 1280 as well, as it is a chipset with quite interesting potential.
