Why buy classic navigation when the one on your mobile is enough for you? If you're one of those people who often get lost in unfamiliar surroundings, then these tips for navigation and map apps will knock the thorn out of you. They will not only serve for step-by-step navigation, but they will also tell you when a train is going, or order a direct ride.
Google Maps
Today's first tip is probably the most popular map application in the world, Google Maps. The app offers the freshest informace about public transport in your city, so you can catch a bus or train better, or it will tell you the estimated time of arrival and informace about traffic in real time, helping you avoid traffic jams. In the application's maps, you can find various places such as restaurants, businesses or those added to them by site owners, local experts or Google itself. You can also create and share a list of favorite places with your friends. In addition, the application offers building plans for quickly orienting yourself in large spaces such as shopping malls, stadiums or airports, or the popular Street View function, which allows you to walk through specific streets and neighborhoods to find a restaurant, shop, hotel, museum and other interesting or important places. For many, perhaps the most important function is the ability to search and use navigation even without an Internet connection. Google Maps is free and contains ads.
Waze
Even with our next tip today, you won't get lost anywhere. Thanks to the Waze app, you will have real time informace about traffic, construction, accidents, police and other events. With the application, you will also always know when you will arrive at your destination, because the "appka" calculates the arrival time based on the current traffic situation. In addition, it allows you to use the navigation application Android Car or find the best possible fuel price on a given route. The app is free and contains ads.
mapy.cz
The third tip is a Czech alternative to Google Maps called Mapy.cz. The application allows you not only to search for places around the world, but also to plan routes and navigate to places without a signal, view and sort saved and recorded trips in My Maps, including synchronization with the Mapy.cz web version, or upload photos to places. In addition, it offers a forecast of weather, temperature, wind and precipitation for several days ahead for any place on earth, tips for trips in the area, aerial maps of the whole world, panoramic photos of Czech streets and a 3D view, timetables at public transport stops, navigation for bicycles and pedestrian and, last but not least, marked parking zones in Czech cities. The app is free and contains ads.
IDOS timetables
Another tip will be appreciated by everyone who often travels by bus, train or public transport. The IDOS Timetables application offers basic functions such as searching for bus, train and public transport connections, offline viewing of searched connections, searching for barrier-free connections or an SMS ticket, but also more advanced functions, such as an intelligent whisperer of stops and addresses or automatic detection of public transport timetables and the nearest stops according to GPS. Of course, they are detailed informace about the connection, including the platform, track, stop number, exclusions, etc. The application is free and contains advertisements and an offer of in-app purchases.
Liftago
Today's last tip is the Liftago application, which will be used especially by those who need to get from one place to another in the city quickly, reliably and at an affordable price. You can also use an alternative taxi service to transport parcels. The application works in the following cities: Prague, Brno, Olomouc, Ostrava, České Budějovice, Ústí nad Labem, Pilsen, Liberec, Zlín and Bratislava. It is offered for free.
Liftago is navigation? And why isn't there, for example, a Locus map?
Well, Locus map is more of a tourist navigation and also for IZS, I don't know what exactly Idos has to do with navigation and what about Sygic
Sygic is great and I've been using it myself for a long time.
From the selection above, Google Maps is good, the rest is useless.
And where are the Here?
I have nothing against said navigations. I use Navigator
from MapFactor and I am completely satisfied. She always took me everywhere without any problems, even in Italy, Austria, Germany, etc. I can only recommend her. You just have to try it and you will see that you will prove me right. It is clear and easy to use
I agree. I also use Mapfactor Navigator and I am very satisfied. Lots of customization options, speed camera warnings (great, especially abroad), offline maps (it paid off, e.g. in Švýcarsku) - and all this already in the free version. I also tried the paid up-to-date shipping and other functions and also satisfaction.
How can one of the best navigations be Google's when it lies a lot. If somewhere there is a road similar to a highway, i.e. 2 lanes in both directions, which are separated by guardrails, or a grass strip, specifically E442/13 between Most and Chomutov, it considers it a highway and will take you in a detour. The same Most-Bílina-Teplice.
