At Samsung Electronics' 54th annual shareholder meeting held on Wednesday, March 13, CEO JH Han apologized for the performance throttling issue in apps, particularly in a number of phones Galaxy S22.

Han mentioned that the GOS system is only for optimization smartphone performance. He thus rejected possible accusations that this system is part of the company's efforts to excessively reduce its costs. At the same time, he said that the company failed to understand the needs of customers regarding their demands for high-end device performance.

A few weeks after the launch of the line Galaxy S22 to the market, it was revealed that all three phones in the series have Game Optimization Service (GOS) pre-installed, which limits the performance of thousands of apps and games. Customers started complaining about this issue after learning that there was no way to turn off the service. Samsung responded by saying that GOS only limits gaming performance, preventing the device from overheating.

We now have a software update that allows users to disable the service. But it is gradually spreading around the world. South Korea's FTC (Fair Trade Commission) has also already started an investigation into the whole case to check whether Samsung with the reported performance Galaxy S22 did not deliberately spread falsehoods informace. Meanwhile, Geekbench removed all models of Samsung series phones Galaxy S from the S10 version of its charts.
