At the annual Games Developer Summit 2022, Google announced a feature that will delight all avid mobile gamers. Thanks to the new function, downloading large games will become much more pleasant. Of course, the American company will not increase the speed of your Internet connection. However, it will integrate the Play as you download function into Google Play, which will allow you to play big games while they are being downloaded.

You may already be familiar with this option from large platforms, when, for example, game consoles will preferentially download data that will allow you to play at least some part of the game as soon as possible, for example an exhibition match in the NHL series. However, the newly introduced function has one catch. Of course, Google will not force the implementation of Play as you download. It's just another tool that game developers can use to enhance the experience of playing their games.

So there will certainly be a large number of voluminous games published on Google Play in the future, which will not bother with the introduction of the new function. However, we can really expect the implementation of the news from the big game studios and publishers. The recently announced Call of Duty: Warzone will hopefully cool the expectations of mobile players a little before they download the huge amount of data that the game will require to fully function. Google has not announced when exactly the feature will start working. You can only use Play as you download on phones with the system Android 12 and newer.
