Pinning chats

We all have our favorite contacts. With so many messages coming into different chats, it's easy to lose your favorite conversations in the flood of different threads. If you want to always have a specific chat in sight, you can pin it. To do this, tap and hold a contact or group and select the pin icon at the top. You can pin up to three chats this way.

Disable automatic download of videos and photos

One of the most annoying things about WhatsApp is definitely the automatic downloading of images and videos from your chats. This is because your gallery is unnecessarily cluttered and cluttered. Fortunately, you can prevent this by going to the Automatic media download menu (More options → Settings → Storage and data → Automatic media download), where you will find three options: When connected via mobile data, When connected to Wi-Fi and When roaming. Uncheck Photos, Audio, and Video for each of them.

Hide the blue whistle confirming the message read notification

While blue whistles next to messages are sometimes useful, we don't always want to let someone know that we've read their message. However, the message read notification can be turned off. You do this by going to Settings→Account→Privacy and then clear the Read Notification check box.

Change font size and format

Did you know that you can change the font size and format the text in WhatsApp? To change the font size, go to More Options→Settings→Chats→Font Size. You can choose small, medium or large font. The application uses special characters for text formatting. If you want to use italics in the text, enclose it on both sides with underscores (_text_ ). To make text bold, insert an asterisk (*text*) at the beginning and end of the text. If you want to strike through text, enclose it on both sides with a tilde (~text~). In addition, WhatsApp allows you to change the standard font to a fixed-width (or non-proportional) font. You activate this by delimiting the text on both sides with three backslashes ("`text"`).
