Samsung, Microsoft, Nvidia, Ubisoft, Okta – these are just some of the big tech or gaming companies that have recently fallen victim to a hacking group that calls itself Lapsus$. Now the Bloomberg agency came up with surprising information: the group is said to be headed by a 16-year-old British teenager.

Bloomberg cites four security researchers who are looking into the group's activities. According to them, the "brain" of the group appears in cyberspace under the nicknames White and breachbase and is supposed to live about 8 km from Oxford University. According to the agency, no official charges have yet been filed against him, and researchers say they have not yet been able to conclusively link him to all of the cyberattacks that Lapsus$ has claimed.

The next member of the group is supposed to be another teenager, this time from Brazil. According to the researchers, it is so capable and fast that they initially believed that the activity they observed was automated. Lapsus$ has been one of the most active hacker groups recently targeting large tech or gaming companies. He usually steals internal documents and source codes from them. He often openly taunts his victims, and does so through video conferences of affected companies. However, the group recently announced that it will take a break from hacking the world's largest companies for a while.
