Payment using electronic devices is still on the rise. You don't have to carry a wallet, cash or cards with you, because your mobile phone or smart watch keeps them safe. Many manufacturers are coming up with their solution, so here we have it Apple Pay, Garmin Pay, etc. On Android Google Pay is of course present on the device and this tutorial will tell you how to Androidu pay by card through your device Galaxy.

First of all, it should be said that you can pay with Google Pay wherever you see the contactless payment symbol or the Google Pay service symbol. These symbols are usually shown on the screen of the payment terminal or at the cash register. Google also offers websites, on which he mentions in which large stores the service can be used to pay. Of course, not all are included here.

Turn on NFC and download the app

It won't work without NFC technology. Most likely, your smartphone already has it, but if you have it turned off, you need to activate it. So go to Settings -> Access available and turn on the option here NFC and contactless payments. If you don't have the Google Pay app installed, you can download it for free from Google Play <a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a>.

Payment method settings

  • Launch the Google Pay app and click on Start.
  • At the top left, tap the menu three lines.
  • Select an option Payment methods.
  • Next to the payment method you want to set up for contactless payments, select Enable contactless payments.
  • According to payment instructions verify the method.
  • So choose an option Set up and confirm card details such as month and year of validity and CVC code.

Verification is the process by which the bank protects your account. Depending on the specific bank, you can use several options. The verification code is sent by your bank, not by Google Pay. It's also a good idea to check that you have an up-to-date phone number and email address with your bank so that you can access the codes. After you receive the code, don't forget to enter it in the Google Pay app.

The ideal verification is via e-mail or text message. When you verify your card this way, the bank will send you a verification code within minutes. You can call the bank and get the code directly. Some banks also offer the option to request a callback via Google Pay. You can also verify the payment method by logging into your bank's application. If you do not have the app installed, you will of course be asked to install it. You can then return to the Google Pay app.

When you set up contactless payments in Google Pay, your payment method is automatically added to your device settings Android. However, if you uninstall the app, your payment method will remain in your device settings and can continue to be used. If you remove the payment method from the Google Pay application, it will of course be automatically removed from the device itself. There are more options for setting the payment method. And described here is only one possible way. You can also tap Add payment method, Add card, and then the payment method directly on the home screen of the application.

Payments by merchants and in stores

The payment itself is then very simple. Just wake up and unlock the phone, you don't even have to do that for smaller payments. You don't need to open the Google Pay app. Then you just put the back of the phone to the payment reader for a few seconds. A blue check mark will appear once the payment has gone through. Some stores use older software that requires a PIN or signature. In this case, follow the on-screen instructions.
