As you know, the globally popular WhatsApp allows you to send files with a maximum size of 100 MB, which is simply not enough for many users. However, that could soon change as the app is now apparently testing a much higher limit for sharing files with each other.

WhatsApp specialist website WABetainfo has discovered that some of the app's beta testers (specifically those in Argentina) can exchange files up to 2GB in size. We are talking about WhatsApp versions 2.22.8.5, 2.22.8.6 and 2.22.8.7 for Android and 22.7.0.76 for iOS. It should be noted that this is only a test feature, so there is no guarantee that WhatsApp will eventually release it for everyone. If they do, however, the feature is sure to be in high demand. At this point, however, it's unclear whether users would be able to send their media files in their original quality. The application sometimes compresses them to a completely unacceptable quality, which forces users to resort to various tricks, such as sending photos as documents.

WhatsApp is currently working on other long-requested features such as emoji reaction to news or facilitating search messages. Perhaps the most requested feature should be available very soon, namely the ability to use the application on four devices at the same time.
