Russian software developers are working on a business with Android applications called NashStore (our store in translation), which could replace Google Play. It should be launched on Victory Day, which is celebrated in Russia on May 9.

The reason for the creation of a national app store in Russia is the suspension of the billing system of the Google Play store, which means, among other things, that users there cannot buy apps and games or pay subscriptions on it, as well as cutting off Russian developers from income. The NashStore should eventually be compatible with the payment card of the Mir bank.

Since the start of the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has faced various sanctions from the Western world. However, they have not yet made him stop the war. Among other things, the sanctions include a ban on the export of Western chips and semiconductors in general to the country. According to local media cited by Gizchina.com, TSMC has already terminated the contract with Russian companies Baikal Electronics and MCST, for which it produced Elbrus processors designed by them. The Russian authorities responded by placing the mentioned companies on the list of "backbone" enterprises. Russian media say the move will help the country transfer processors from TSMC to local chip foundries.
