Samsung, which is one of the largest manufacturers of memory chips in the world, can expect a large year-on-year profit growth of almost 40% in this area in the first quarter of this year. At least that's what the Korean company Yonhap Infomax predicts.

She expects that Samsung's profit from memory chips in the first three months of this year will reach 13,89 trillion won (roughly CZK 250 million). That would be 38,6% more than the same period in 2021. Sales are also up, though not nearly as much as profit. According to the company's estimate, they will reach 75,2 trillion won (approximately 1,35 billion CZK), which would be 15% more year-on-year.

The Korean tech giant is expected to achieve more than positive financial results despite difficult external business conditions, ranging from problems in the global supply chain to fluctuating raw material prices caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Samsung has previously said that the war in Ukraine will not have an immediate impact on its chip production, thanks to the diversified resources and huge stockpile of key materials it currently has at its disposal.
