Last year, the story of engineer Ken Pillonel, who was able to do what he did, went viral on the Internet Apple tooth and nail - he managed to add a USB-C connector to the iPhone. He thus produced the first functional prototype in the world. Now he turned the procedure around and managed to put the Lightning connector on the device with Androidem, Samsung specifically Galaxy A51.

If he had iPhone USB-C, it could be taken as an advantage, but if the device with Androidem you put Lightning, it's more of a step back. However, Pillonel states that he actually just wanted to try. In the final, moreover, it was not as lengthy a job as in the first case, although it was definitely not easy either. Here it was mainly a challenge to talk Lightning into being used with iPhonem. "Lightning cables are not stupid," he said. “They only charge Apple devices. So I had to find a way to trick the cable into thinking it was connected to an Apple device. And for that, the entire connector has to somehow fit into the phone, which is another challenge in itself.”

Pillonel has so far only given a preview of the rebuild, but he is said to be working on it comprehensive video, where he explains everything, and which he will soon publish on his channel at YouTube. As for the phone itself, Pillonel says he'll probably keep it after running into trouble last year when he auctioned off his original iPhone with USB-C. The auction itself ended with fake bids exceeding 100 dollars.
