Samsung has announced that it has entered into a partnership with global technology company ABB. The goal is to expand the integration of its SmartThings service to more devices in the residential and commercial construction market.

The new cooperation will help strengthen the integration of SmartThings IoT with more products and make the platform a single place for controlling or monitoring connected devices. For this purpose, the partners will create a cloud-to-cloud integration, thanks to which users of the ABB-free@home and SmartThings platforms will gain access to a wide range of devices. With SmartThings, users will be able to control all devices in the Swedish-Swedish portfoliocarof the technological giant, including cameras, sensors or systems to increase comfort.

Samsung also promises the new partnership will help it create an ecosystem of smart homes and commercial buildings integrated with smart devices that will reduce overall energy consumption. At this point, the Korean giant states that 40% of annual global CO2 emissions are generated by buildings. According to him, the use of ABB photovoltaic inverters and chargers will not only help meet energy needs, but also reduce CO emissions2 generated by other energy sources.
