If you need to protect your mobile device, there are two ways to do it. The first is, of course, the cover, but if it is not flip, of course it does not cover the smartphone display. That's why there are still protective glasses. This from PanzerGlass pro Galaxy The S21 FE then belongs to the top.

Of course, you can find cheaper solutions, even from proven brands, but you will also come across more expensive ones. At the outset, however, it must be said that even though I have already passed through a good number of glasses from different companies, and also for different devices, PanzerGlass glasses are among the best that you can buy to protect smartphone displays.

The package contains everything important

If you apply glass to your smartphone at home, you need a few basic requirements. Apart from the glass itself, this ideally involves an alcohol-soaked cloth, a cleaning cloth and a dust removal sticker. In the best possible cases, you will also find a molding in the package to precisely set the device. But don't look for it here.

When applying glass to the display, many users often worry that it will fail. In the case of PanzerGlass, however, these concerns are not entirely justified. With a cloth impregnated with alcohol, you can perfectly clean the display of the device so that not a single fingerprint or any dirt remains on it. You can then polish it to perfection with a cleaning cloth, and if there is still a speck of dust on the display, you can simply remove it with the included sticker.

Applying the glass is simple

On the inside of the package you have a precise description of how to proceed. After cleaning the display, it is necessary to remove its back layer from the glass, which is marked with the number one. It is a really hard plastic that ensures the protection of the glass in the package, but also after its removal. Of course, after removing the first layer, the glass must then be applied to the device.

In practice, you can only orient yourself by the location of the front camera, because there are no other reference points on the front of the phone. Therefore, I recommend turning on the display and ideally setting it to a longer turn-off time so that you can take your time and ideally position the glass. You just have to put it on the display. Personally, I started right at the camera and placed the glass towards the connector. It was nice to see here how it gradually adheres to the display.

The next step is to push out the bubbles. So you need to push the glass towards the display with your fingers from the top to the bottom. After that, you can peel off foil number two and check how the work was done. You can't see it in the photos, but I still had a few bubbles between the glass and the display.

In the instructions, it is described that in such a case you have to carefully lift the glass in the place where there are bubbles and put it back to the display. Since in my case the bubbles weren't terribly large, I didn't even attempt this step. However, a few days later I found that the bubbles were gone. With the gradual use of the phone and the way the glass was still working, it adhered perfectly and now it is absolutely perfect without a single defect in the form of even the slightest bubble.

Invisible protector

The glass is very pleasant to use, and I can't tell the difference to the touch if my finger runs over some cover glass or directly on the display. I wasn't even forced to go to Settings -> Display and turn on the option here Touch sensitivity (it will increase the touch sensitivity of the display just with regard to foils and glasses), so I use the device without this option. Even though its edges are 2,5D, it is true that they are a bit sharper and I could imagine a smoother transition. However, the dirt does not stick around strongly. The glass itself is only 0,4mm thick, so you really don't have to worry about it ruining the design of the device in any way, or having any effect on its overall weight.

I didn't notice that the brightness of the display suffered in any way, even in sunlight, so I'm very satisfied in this regard as well. This is a frequent ailment of different and especially cheaper glasses, so even if this is your concern, it is pointless in this case. Among the other specifications, the 9H hardness is also important, which says that only diamond is harder. This guarantees the glass resistance not only against impact but also scratches, and such an investment in accessories is of course less expensive than having the display changed in a service center. In the still ongoing covid era, you will also appreciate the antibacterial treatment according to ISO 22196, which kills 99,99% of known bacteria.

Case friendly

If you use on your Galaxy S21 FE covers, especially those of PanzerGlass, the glass is fully compatible with them, i.e. it does not interfere with the covers in any way, just as they do not interfere with the glass itself (personally i use this also by PanzerGlass). After 14 days of use, no micro hairs are visible on it, so the phone looks the same as the first day of its application. For the price of CZK 899, you are buying real quality that will ensure the complete safety of your display without reducing the comfort of using the device. There is a wide range of variants available for many phones, where the price of the glass varies slightly accordingly. Just look at the entire offer, for example here.
