Vivo has unveiled its first ever foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold. It has an 8-inch E5 AMOLED flexible display with 2K resolution (1800 x 2200 px) and a variable refresh rate from 1-120 Hz, and an external AMOLED display with a size of 6,5 inches, FHD+ resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The flexible display uses UTG protective glass from Schott, which is also found in Samsung's "puzzles". The phone is equipped with a hinge made from components used in the aerospace industry, which allows it to open at an angle of 60-120 degrees. It is powered by Qualcomm's current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which is supported by 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of internal memory.

One of the main attractions of the news is its photo system. The main camera has a resolution of 50 MPx, f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization and is based on the Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor. Another is a 12MPx telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.0 and 2x optical zoom, the third is an 8MPx periscope telephoto lens with an aperture of f/3.4, optical image stabilization and 5x optical and 60x digital zoom. The last member of the set is a 48MPx "wide-angle" with an f/2.2 aperture and a 114° angle of view. Vivo collaborated with Zeiss on the rear camera, which enriched it with several photo modes, such as Texture Portrait, Motion Capture 3.0, Zeiss Super Night Scene or Zeiss Nature Color. The front camera has a resolution of 16 MPx.

The equipment includes a built-in fingerprint reader, stereo speakers or NFC in both displays. The battery has a capacity of "only" 4600 mAh and supports 66W fast wired charging (from 0-100% in 37 minutes, according to the manufacturer), 50W fast wireless charging, as well as reverse wireless charging with a power of 10W. Vivo X Fold will be offered in in blue, black and gray and should go on sale in China this month. Its price will start at 8 yuan (approximately CZK 999). It is not known at this time whether the novelty will be available later on international markets.
