Technological visionary and for some a somewhat controversial figure, Elon Musk recently acquired more than 9% of Twitter. Now it has come to light that he wants to buy the entire popular microblogging platform. And he offers a decent package for it.

Musk, who heads major technology companies Tesla and SpaceX, is offering $54,20 per Twitter share, according to a letter he sent to the US stock exchange on Wednesday. When all the shares are bought, it comes to a dizzying 43 billion dollars (roughly 974 billion CZK). He also says in the letter that it is his "best and final offer" and threatens to reconsider his position as a shareholder in the company if it is rejected. According to him, it is necessary for Twitter to transform into a private company.

It is worth noting that after buying a 9,2% stake, Musk turned down an offer to join Twitter's board of directors. He justified this, among other things, by not trusting his leadership. With just under 73,5 million shares in his possession, he is now Twitter's largest shareholder. He himself is very active on the popular social network and currently has 81,6 million followers. He is currently the richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of around $270 billion, so if he were to spend the said $43 billion, it wouldn't hurt his wallet too much.
