Mobile phone manufacturers are competing to see which of them will have a better display, camera setup or perhaps higher performance. But all this will be of no use to you when your phone runs out, because it has a small battery capacity that it cannot manage and does not provide fast charging. How to charge a mobile phone is not a science, but it is good to follow certain procedures so as not to put unnecessary demands on the battery.

Modern devices are super powerful, their cameras are also used for everyday photography. However, they still have essential reserves in their batteries, which is also why manufacturers have been focusing more and more on them lately. As opposed to constantly increasing capacity, they also try to keep increasing charging speeds so that we can start using our devices as soon as possible, with enough juice.

General tips for charging your mobile phone

  • When charging your device's battery for the first time, it doesn't matter what state of charge it is. If you take your device out of the box, feel free to charge it right away.
  • For a longer battery life, it is advisable to avoid the 0% limit. Since you can charge the battery at any time, try not to drop below 20%. To prevent aging as much as possible, keep the device in the optimal charge range of 20 to 80%. Constant transitions from a completely discharged to a fully charged device reduce the battery capacity in the long term. Telephones Galaxy can set this. Go to Settings -> Battery and device care -> Battery -> Additional battery settings. Turn on the feature at the very bottom here Protect the battery. In this case, charging will be limited to 85% of its charge state.
  • Modern lithium batteries do not suffer from the self-discharge effect, so their service life is significantly longer. In addition, these are smart batteries containing sensors monitoring the charging process. So they don't mind charging overnight anymore, because they can turn off charging in time, even if you don't have it limited by the function mentioned above, but you will get to the hundred percent limit.
  • Try to avoid extreme temperatures, especially high ones. It heats up when charging, so if you have your device in a case, it is recommended to take it out of the case. High temperatures can permanently reduce battery capacity, so be sure not to charge your device in the sun or under a pillow.

How to charge a mobile phone with a cable and wireless chargers

Simply connect the USB cable to the USB power adapter. Plug the USB cable into the device's universal connector and plug the power adapter into a power outlet.

Connect the charging cable to the charging pad, of course also connect the cable to the appropriate adapter and plug it into a power outlet. When charging on wireless chargers, just place your device on them. But place the device centrally on the charging pad, otherwise charging may not be as efficient. Many charging pads also indicate charging status.

Tips for wireless charging

  • The smartphone must be centered on the charging pad.
  • There should be no foreign objects such as metal objects, magnets or cards with magnetic strips between the smartphone and the charging pad.
  • The back of the mobile device and the charger should be clean and free of dust.
  • Only use charging pads and charging cables with the appropriate rated input voltage.
  • The protective cover may interfere with the charging process. In this case, remove the protective cover from the smartphone.
  • If you connect a cable charger to your smartphone during wireless charging, the wireless charging function will no longer be available.
  • If you use the charging pad in places with poor signal reception, it may fail completely during charging.
  • The charging station does not have a switch. When not in use, unplug the charging station from the power outlet to avoid power consumption.

Fast charging

Modern smartphones allow various forms of fast charging. By default, these options are turned on, but it may happen that they have been turned off. If you want to make sure you charge your device at the maximum speed possible (regardless of the adapter used), go to Settings -> Battery and device care -> Battery -> Additional battery settings and check here if you have it turned on Fast charging a Fast wireless charging. However, to save battery power, the fast charging function is not available when the screen is on. Leave the screen off for charging.

Fast charging tips

  • To increase the charging speed even more, charge the device in Airplane mode.
  • You can check the remaining charging time on the screen, and if fast charging is available, you will also receive a text notification here. Of course, the actual remaining time may vary depending on the charging conditions.
  • You cannot use the built-in quick charge function when charging the battery with a standard battery charger. Find out how fast you can charge your device and get the optimally powerful adapter for it.
  • If the device heats up or the ambient air temperature increases, the charging speed may decrease automatically. This is done to avoid damage to the device.
