Vivo has launched the new Vivo X80 flagship series, which includes the X80 and X80 Pro models. Somewhat surprisingly, the X80 Pro+ model is missing among them, which, of course, has not disappeared, it will only be presented later, sometime in the third quarter of this year. The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro will offer, among other things, large top-of-the-line displays, high performance or a quality photo set. They could thus be competitors of the current flagship series of Samsung phones Galaxy S22.

Let's start with the standard model first. Vivo X80 the E5 received a Samsung AMOLED display with a size of 6,78 inches, a resolution of 1080 x 2400 px, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 1500 nits. They are powered by MediaTek's current flagship chip Dimensity 9000, which is supported by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128-512 GB of internal memory.

The camera is triple with a resolution of 50, 12 and 12 MPx, while the main one is built on the Sony IMX866 sensor and has a lens aperture of f/1.75, optical image stabilization and laser focus, the second is a telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.0 and 2x optical zoom and the third " wide" with f/2.0 lens aperture. The phone uses a proprietary V1+ image processor for better low-light photography. Vivo collaborated with leading photography company Zeiss to fine-tune the cameras. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MPx.

The equipment includes an under-display fingerprint reader, NFC, an infrared port and, of course, there is also support for 5G networks. The battery has a capacity of 4500 mAh and supports fast charging with a power of 80 W (according to the manufacturer, it can be charged from zero to half in 11 minutes). The operating system is Android 12 "wrapped" by the Origin OS Ocean superstructure. Like the Pro model, the phone will be available in black, orange and turquoise. Its price will start at 3 yuan (roughly 699 CZK) and end at 13 yuan (just over 4 CZK).

Vivo X80 Pro it features a 5-inch Samsung E2 LPTO6,78 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 px, a variable refresh rate of 1-120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 1500 nits and support for HDR10+ content. They are powered by two chipsets: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the aforementioned Dimensity 9000. The version with the first mentioned chip will be offered in memory variants of 8/256 GB, 12/256 GB and 12/512 GB, while the latter in variants of 12/256 GB and 12/512GB.

Unlike the standard model, the camera is quadruple and has a resolution of 50, 8, 12 and 48 MPx, while the main one is built on the new Samsung ISOCELL GNV sensor, has an aperture of f/1.57 and laser focus, the second is a periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization, the third uses a Sony IMX663 sensor, supports 2x optical zoom and uses a gimbal-like optical image stabilization system, and the last member of the rear photo assembly is a "wide-angle" built on a Sony IMX598 sensor with a 114° angle of view. Compared to the camera of the standard model, this one is capable of recording in 8K resolution. The front camera has the same resolution as its sibling, i.e. 32 MPx.

The equipment includes an under-display fingerprint reader, NFC with a wider range, 5G, an infrared port, stereo speakers and a HiFi audio chip. The battery has a capacity of 4700 mAh and supports 80W fast wired and 50W fast wireless charging (in the latter case, according to the manufacturer, the battery is charged from 0-100% in 50 minutes). The operating system is the same as the standard model Android 12 with Origin OS Ocean superstructure.

The phone will be sold in the 8/256 GB variant for 5 yuan (roughly CZK 499), in the 19/300 GB variant for 12 yuan (about CZK 256), and for the highest 5/999 GB variant, Vivo will claim 21 12 yuan (approximately CZK 512). Both models go on sale in China this week, with international markets arriving next month.
