Samsung has been the undisputed leader in the field of foldable smartphones for some time now. In the last few years we have seen devices from him like Galaxy From Fold a Galaxy From Flip. Of course, the Korean technology giant does not want to rest on its laurels in this area, as evidenced by its two new flexible patents at the World Intellectual Property Organization.

One patent shows a device with a flexible display and the other a phone with a scrollable or retractable display and stylus support. The first device looks quite ordinary in terms of design and does not seem to be a flexible smartphone or a clamshell. But its flexible display seems to be an extension of the main display, stretching up to half of the back panel. In addition, the image shows a triple rear camera and a front-facing selfie camera. Since the device has a display on the back, it should be possible to take "selfies" with the rear camera.

As for the second device, it has two parts according to the relevant patent. The motor for retracting and extending the scrolling display is located on the left edge. The back panel, which hides part of the slide-out display, always has a place for the S Pen cutout. Above that is another module that could be for the camera sensors. Images of the front of the device suggest that its right edge will serve as a mini-display for displaying notifications or opening applications.

Samsung has boasted before display, which fold in two or three places or have a retractable mechanism. Maybe one of them will use in one or the other mentioned device. Of course, it is also possible that everything will remain only on paper and we will never see a real product. Either way, both patents look extremely interesting and hint at what the future of flexible phones could look like.
