Popular navigation app Android The car has started receiving a new update, this time aimed at the evolving nature of vehicle touchscreens. Google said the new split-screen display will now be standard for all users, giving them access to key features like navigation, media player and messaging. Previously, the split screen was only available to owners of selected cars.

Android The car will also adapt to any type of touchscreen regardless of its size. Car manufacturers are getting creative in this area, installing everything from large horizontal or vertical screens to long vertical displays in the shape of "surfboards" in their vehicles. Google says that Android The car adapts to all these types of screens without any problems.

As in-vehicle displays grow in size, so does the likelihood that they will distract drivers. A recent study by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) division of the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine found that drivers who already select music using Android Car or CarPlay have slower reaction times than those "high" on marijuana. Google has been trying to solve this problem for some time, but has not yet come to a definitive solution. The new update also brings the ability to respond to text messages with standardized responses that can be sent with a single tap.
