We recently informed you that Qualcomm's next flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is likely to be delayed and will be introduced sometime in the second half of the year instead of the expected June. But now it looks like it will be released in May, specifically already this week.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is likely to be unveiled at the Snapdragon Night event, which is already taking place on May 20 in China. In addition to the latest flagship chip, Qualcomm could also reveal the less powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 platform. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ should use the same processor layout as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1: one super-powerful Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3 GHz, three powerful Cortex- A710 and three cost-effective Cortex-A510 cores, and apparently it will have an improved graphics chip. It should be manufactured using TSMC's 4nm process and overall be around 10% faster than the current flagship chip. It will reportedly debut in the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra "superflagship" and Samsung's next "puzzles" will use it, among other things Galaxy Z-Flip4 and Z Fold4.

As for the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, it should have four powerful Cortex-A710 cores with a frequency of 2,36 GHz and four economical cores with a clock speed of 1,8 GHz and an Adreno 662 graphics chip. It is said that the Oppo Reno8 smartphone will be the first to use it, which is to be presented on May 23.
