Smart watches have been with us for more than a decade, but the system Wear The OS as we know it only appeared on the scene in 2018. However, the system only became relevant a few years later, when its creator Google teamed up with Samsung to jointly create a "next-gen" version Wear OS 3, which software drives the watch Galaxy Watch4. A developer appearing on the XDA Developers website under the name parasetam0l specifically ported the Gear 3 (non-LTE version; SM-R760) Wear OS 2 (based on Androidat 9 Pie H MR2). In theory, this system should also work with the Classic model (SM-R770). The system makes a large part of its functions available in the watch, including support for the Google Play store and Google Assistant or synchronization with a Google account. Some connectivity options and sensors like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a heart rate sensor also work. The rotating crown (used to navigate the interface) even works.

The system unsurprisingly has a number of bugs and problems, but not as many as we would expect from such a project. Among the biggest problems are worse battery life compared to Tizen, poor sound quality or non-functioning GPS and NFC. It is also worth noting that the phone application Wear identifies the hacked watch as a TicWatch For 3, although this is not a problem in itself.
