As you probably know from our previous news, Samsung is working on a high-performance chipset designed exclusively for phones Galaxy, which should appear on the scene in 2025. Now, a report has leaked into the air, according to which the Korean smartphone giant has reserved a special team for the project.

According to the Korean website Naver, Samsung has set aside a specialized team of around 1,000 people to work on the new chip. The project is so important to the Korean giant that it is said to have decided not to introduce new Exynos flagship chipsets next year and the year after. It simply means that Galaxy Neither does the S23 Galaxy The S24 won't get Exynos chips, and Samsung will likely resort to distributing them globally with Qualcomm Snapdragon chips.

The team, which Samsung is said to be calling internally the "Dream Platform One Team", is expected to start working on the chip from July. It is said to be headed by the head of Samsung's mobile division, TM Roh, and the head of the System LSI division, Park Yong-in. The group is said to include a number of engineers who designed Exynos chips in the latter division and who coordinated their installation in the mobile division.

The fact that Samsung wants to "play the first violin" in the field of chips is evidenced by its announcement yesterday that it intends to invest approximately 450 trillion won (about CZK 8,2 trillion) in the semiconductor segment (and also the biopharmaceutical industry) over the next five years. . This is a 30% increase compared to the previous "five-year plan". Samsung wants to spend these funds, among other things, on improving the chip architecture, manufacturing process and memory chips, or strengthening research into new technologies and materials.
