The recovery of the global economy after the pandemic has been slower than expected (even considering that it is still ongoing). For that reason, companies are also lowering their expectations as inflation forces customers to be more careful with their money. Neither the ongoing situation between Russia and Ukraine nor the ongoing chip crisis is helping the situation.

Of course, even Samsung is not immune to this dynamic. So society has to adapt to this situation. So a new report suggests that Samsung has decided to reduce the production of phones by 30 million units this year. And that's not enough. However, other companies are said to have taken similar steps. Apple because he had also reduced the production of iPhones, at least for the SE model, and immediately by 20%.

Although Apple cut production of its cheapest and least equipped model, Samsung is reducing production targets for its entire mobile portfolio. It reportedly wanted to produce and deliver 310 million units of smartphones this year, but now it has decided to reduce this production to 280 million units. So, due to global inflation, it looks like this year will also see a downward trend in smartphone sales.
