Last August, Gmail came up with a useful way to Androidu to further improve search results. These filters now appear newly when viewing tags and folders.

Opening a label or default folder (for example With an asterisk or Sent) in Gmail for Android it will now reveal a new menu under the search bar. Its filters note the current label the user is viewing and allow you to add more, even if it "throws" it into the search interface.

This information is followed by: From, To, Attachment, Date, Unread and Exclusive Calendar Update. They are the same ones that appear in the search results where now on Androidu displays the label filter first. Filters can also be hidden, but this setting is not permanent and will reappear if the user switches to a new label.

The carousel menu is a useful new feature that makes it easier to search for emails using filters in cases where Gmail search fails. Specifically, it's part of the 2022.05.01 version that Google started rolling out last week. Meanwhile, the "carousel" has also appeared on the web when searching for labels or folders. Unlike androidversion, the label filter does not appear in the first position (however, it is possible to manually add a label in the search bar, see the third image in the gallery).
