Intel chief Pat Gelsinger met with Samsung Electronics vice chairman and de facto Samsung boss Lee Jae-yong in late May in Seoul to discuss cooperation between the two tech giants. This was reported by the website of The Korea Herald. The meeting took place just a few days after US President Joe Biden visited Samsung's largest semiconductor factory.

“Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong met with Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger. They discussed how to work together between the two companies,” confirmed the Samsung meeting. He added that the topics discussed included new generation memory chips, fabless chips or chips for computers and mobile devices. In addition to Lee, Gelsinger also met with other senior representatives of Samsung, such as the head of its chip division Kyung Kye-hyun or the head of the mobile division Roh Tae-moon.

Neither Samsung nor Intel said if any decisions were made during the meeting. Since the tech giants have worked together before, it's safe to assume they'd be willing to get back together for some reason.
