Smartphone cameras could already be powerful enough in 2024 to take better pictures than SLR cameras. At least that's according to Sony Semiconductor Solutions President and CEO Terushi Shimizu, who commented on the matter during his business briefing.
Given that smartphones are naturally limited by their space limitations compared to DSLRs, this is certainly a bold claim. However, the premise is that smartphone camera sensors are getting bigger and may reach a point by 2024 where they can outperform DSLR camera sensors.
