For today's 19 p.m. class, he has Apple scheduled opening keynote for its WWDC22 conference. The introduction of a whole range of operating systems is expected, among which of course there will be iOS 16, i.e. the system on which the company will build iPhone 14, but of course it will also be available for older devices. But he has it Android afraid?

WWDC runs from June 6 to 10 and is an event aimed primarily at developers. Here, they will learn about the news in the company's operating systems, which they will then be able to implement in their solutions. Whether it is about iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 8 or tvOS 16, all systems will be available only in the fall of this year.

Supported devices

When we focus on iOS 16, is one of the questions that all devices will support it. Apple after all, it is the leader in supporting older devices because iOS 15 runs even on 7 year old devices. Most likely though Apple this year it will cut support for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, just like the first iPhone SE, which was released in the spring of 2016. Even so, this is exemplary support for devices that have already had it behind them with regard to technological progress.

Redesign will not come

Some users hoped that iOS The 16 will mark the first major design change in many years, but that doesn't seem likely. Agency Bloomberg indeed she stated that iOS The 16 will certainly not offer any "end to end redesign", which means that the design will remain the same this year. But we can still hope for certain changes to the visual elements. Most recently, the company redesigned the entire system iOS just in case iOS 7, which switched from skeuomorphism to a flat appearance. Since Apple they are gradually changing only certain parts, but we haven't seen anything big and probably won't again this year.

Function

Bloomberg also reported that iOS 16 will be a fairly significant update in all areas of the system. One of the highlights this year will probably be the announcements. Apple he already debugged it in the last two versions of the system, but he is probably still not satisfied with their implementation in the system, which also applies to many users. iOS 16 should also include new health monitoring features. In recent years, the company has made the Health app and its integration with the watch Apple Watch the focal point of software updates, and it looks like that won't change this year either. Unfortunately, this is very limited in the Czech Republic.

Always On Display

The system could also include new features aimed at iPhone 14 For a iPhone 14 Pro Max, which will be launched in September of this year at the earliest. According to Mark Gurman, they have iOS 16 will provide an Always On display, i.e. a function for Android devices quite common. The iPhone 13 Pro was originally supposed to include it, but Apple abandoned that plan because they couldn't get their display refresh rate down to 1Hz. The always-on display would reportedly allow users to see some on the iPhone's display at all times informace, that is, what we have known for many years. But if Apple Always On is really coming, we shouldn't learn about it at WWDC, because they will surely introduce this function only with iPhone 14, as one of their biggest functional innovations.

More news

The system is also said to lay the groundwork for augmented and virtual reality features in some respects, even before the company's first headset launches. However, it is expected that Apple will introduce this new headset at the end of this year at the earliest. Reports also suggest that iOS 16 will bring to the Messages app more functions similar to those known from social networks, with an emphasis on audio messages. The possibility of scheduling the sending of messages is also discussed at length. Last but not least, it is also believed that it would Apple should have improved the Home application, which is quite unintuitive and loses compared to the competition.

If you're wondering what the company has in store for iPhone owners, well watch today's show iOS 16 live in Czech right here from 19:00.
