A series of tablets Galaxy The Tab S8, which includes three models, belongs to the manufacturer's top portfolio. Galaxy The Tab S8 is the smallest, but it also differs from the Plus model in terms of display technology and biometric authentication. Galaxy The Tab S8 Ultra is, after all, in a slightly different league. Galaxy But the Tab S8+ can be an ideal solution for many.

The packaging of the tablet is typically minimalistic and, of course, does not differ much from what you find in other models, i.e. the smaller or larger ones. Apart from the tablet itself, the packaging also contains the S Pen and a pair of boxes that hide information materials, a tool for removing the memory card drawer (or SIM), and of course the USB-C charging cable. Look no further here. The company plays an ecological note and does not include an adapter. You need to use yours, ideally with enough power to take advantage of fast charging.

The graphite color is quite effective, its only ailment is that fingerprints stick to it a lot and the tablet doesn't look very good after using it for a while. It is not so striking on the silver color. When you examine the device more closely, you will find that the manufacturer took care to wrap all the edges of the tablet with foil. So don't forget to peel it off after unpacking.

Bigger and more advanced

It has main and front cameras Galaxy Tab S8+ identical to its smaller version, as well as the memory and also the chip, connectivity, sensors, audio specification. What's different is its 12,4" Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1752 pixels with a fineness of 266 ppi. The lower model only has an LTPS TFT 11" display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and 1763 ppi. Both have a 120Hz refresh rate.

The second difference is the fingerprint reader. The smaller model has it in the power (side) button, the Plus model has already integrated it into the display. Galaxy Due to its smaller dimensions, the Tab S8 only has an 8000mAh battery, Galaxy Tab S8+, on the other hand, 10090mAh. Both support Super Fast Charging 2.0 (up to 45 W).

So, if you're looking at the quality of the display, the main thing in the decision-making process will most likely take place with regard to the size. Do not worry about the weight, because the basic model weighs 503 g, while the larger one is only 64 g heavier. The dimensions are more important. Precisely because the larger model takes up more space, it can also be thinner. Its thickness is only 5,7 mm compared to 6,3 mm. Otherwise, it is larger in both directions. However, it makes up for it with the size of the display. It is not easy to say whether smaller or bigger is better.

So which one to reach for?

Even though we're done testing the base model, and now we can play with the larger model, it's still hard to decide which one to actually go for. Here we see the same thing in a pale blue jacket, only in one that is one size larger. But it fits perfectly. Everything you get on the Plus model can also be done on the one without this moniker. It will take photos just as well, browse the Internet just as fast, games will run just as smoothly on it, only on the Plus model everything will be bigger and a little nicer. But sooner your hands will hurt from using it, and at least in the beginning it will also hurt your wallet.

It's those small differences that made quite a big difference in price, which may help in your decision. The basic 11" model starts at 19 CZK, while the Plus model will cost you 490 CZK. So it's a difference of five thousand, which is definitely not negligible, for what they offer you the extra 24 plates, maybe not enough for many.
