Samsung may face another legal battle over patent infringement. The patent licensing company K. Mirza LLC filed against the Korean smartphone giant late last month lawsuit, accusing it of using as its own smartphone battery technology originally developed by the Dutch research institute Nederlandse Organisatie Voor Togepast Natuurwetschpanchen Onderzoe. The website informed about it Android Central.

The mentioned technology takes the form of an algorithm that can determine how much battery capacity is left on a mobile device with respect to time. Prediction is based on algorithms that analyze user behavior. K. Mirza LLC claims that Samsung uses this algorithm in its devices with Androidem is used without permission and thus violates the original patent.

While the new lawsuit targets Samsung, it concerns the technology in the system Android, not the Korean giant's own software. In addition to Samsung, other manufacturers also use this technology androidof phones, namely Xiaomi and Google (it could be other companies, but these two are known). However, the lawsuit specifically mentions older versions Androidu (but does not specify the specific version), which means that newer smartphones with the latest software may not infringe the patent in question. Samsung has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
