Samsung's display division Samsung Display is reportedly planning to build a new factory to produce OLED panels. She should be serving one of her biggest clients, which is her Apple. Specifically, it should produce displays for iPads and iMacs.

As the Korean website says The Elec, Samsung Display has not yet decided what budget it will set aside for the new factory, or rather the Gen 8.5 production line. He added that the company will publish the spending plan within the year and will start ordering equipment for the line next year. At the beginning, the line could produce 15 substrates per month, later up to double that.

Apparently, Samsung Display wants to secure itself with this step Apple as a client for OLED displays. Some industry observers believe that the Cupertino technology giant will want to switch to OLED panels in several product categories, including future iPads and iMacs.

Samsung is also seeking to become Apple's supplier of the FC-BGA substrates needed to manufacture the upcoming chip Apple M2. He made his debut on Monday when new generations of laptops were presented MacBook Pro a Macbook Air.
