Larger chat groups are now available on the globally popular chatbot WhatsApp. This feature originally appeared in the beta version in May, but now all users have started receiving it. Specifically, the new update increases the maximum number of participants in group conversations from 256 to 512.

The latest update for WhatsApp, which was discovered by a website specialized for it WaBetaInfo, is released in phases. If you haven't received it yet, it should be available to you within the next 24 hours.

The new function is available both for mobile versions (i.e. for systems Android a iOS), and the web version of the application. Users who manage groups will not need to do anything extra to reach the new limit of 512 participants. Once WhatsApp users update to the latest version, their groups should have double the number of members.

Other recent beta versions of WhatsApp suggest that it might also get the ability to edit messages or send files up to 2 GB. Recently, the app started introducing a long-requested feature by users, namely emoji reaction to messages.
