Samsung's next smartwatch Galaxy Watch5 recently received certification from the US FCC (Federal Communications Commission). She indicated that the watch could have significantly faster wireless charging compared to the current generation.

Except that the FCC certification confirmed the model numbers Galaxy Watch5 (SM-R900, SM-R910 and SM-R920; the first two denote the 40mm and 44mm versions of the standard model, the third the Pro model), revealed that Samsung is testing a new 10W wireless charger for the watch. Advice Galaxy Watch4 (even the previous ones) use 5W chargers, so double the charging speed would be a tangible improvement.

The battery capacities of both models have already leaked into the air. The 40mm variant has a capacity of 276 mAh (29 mAh more than the current generation), the 44mm variant has 397 mAh (36 mAh more) and the Pro model will reportedly have a massive 572 mAh. 10W charging would be perfect for larger batteries.

Galaxy Watch5 should otherwise get OLED displays, resistance according to the IP standard, operating system Wear OS 3, all fitness sensors and maybe eventually a body measurement sensor temperature. They will reportedly be presented in August (along with new "puzzles" Galaxy From Fold4 and Z Flip4).
