Google's Gmail email client is popular across platforms. Its history is also quite rich, since it was created back in 2004. But it has changed a lot since then, especially with regard to the addition of various useful functions. Therefore, here you will find 5 tips and tricks for Gmail on Android, which you will certainly use when using it.

Change view

Some people want to see more on their device's display, others less. Of course, the quality of the display in your device also depends, i.e. its size and resolution. You can choose from three variants of the density of the list, thanks to which everyone can choose the one that suits them best. In Gmail, click on the menu at the top left three lines and select at the very bottom Settings a then General settings. Here you will already see the offer Conversation list density. After selecting it, you will be shown options, among which you can simply choose the ideal one.

Gestures

When you are already in Settings a General settings, choose another option Swipe action. As in many other applications, you can make changes here too by moving your finger over the item. This menu then sets which action should be performed for which gesture. There is an option to specify shift to the left or right. By selecting an offer Alter so you determine whether, after the given gesture, the mail should be archived, deleted, marked as read or unread, postponed, or moved to a folder of your choice.

Confidential mode

You can send messages and attachments in Gmail in confidential mode to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access. In confidential mode, you can set an expiration date for messages or revoke access at any time. Recipients of a confidential message will be blocked from forwarding, copying, printing or downloading the message (but can take a screenshot). To activate confidential mode, start writing a new e-mail and select at the top right three dots icon. Here you will see an option Confidential mode, which you tap. You can also set the expiration date or if a password is required to open the email.

Email management

If you do not have a zero inbox, i.e. the sense of mail sorting in which you have no unread messages, bulk email management may be useful for you, especially with regard to advertising newsletters. If you hold your finger on a message for a longer time, instead of its sender icon, a tick symbol will appear on the left side of the interface. This way, you can go through a section of your inbox, mark several emails, and then work with them all at once – delete them, archive them, move them, etc.

Switching between accounts

If you use multiple e-mail accounts, you can of course have them all added within the application. To do this, just tap on your profile photo in the upper right and select the menu Add another account. However, how to ideally switch between them so that you only see content from the given one? It's very simple - just swipe up or down on your profile photo.
