It took quite a while for me to mature into a smartwatch wearer. Several factors were responsible for this. First of all, as a collector of the mechanical ones, I was sorry that I should become a so-called OWG (One Watch Guy), and moreover the smart ones out of so many functions that I often don't use anyway. But here it is, and it's not bad at all.

Another reason for my resistance to wearing anything smart on my wrist was that the times are so steeped in technology that I just didn't want to have another piece of electronics I was carrying around all the time. But once you try a similar device, you will find that you are defending yourself completely unnecessarily. Such a device does not limit you, but actually moves you further. Yes, the entire watch collection is lying idle now, but it will rather benefit her.

Changing the belt is a breeze

If you own a phone Galaxy Samsung brand, you have many options for smart wearable electronics. I've been dealing with Garmin devices a lot, but what could be better in conjunction with a Samsung phone than a Samsung watch? The Classic model also offers from basic Galaxy Watch4 two advantages – a larger 46mm case and a rotating bezel.

Galaxy Watch4 to Watch4 Classic, however, are available in several case sizes. In the case of the 46mm, the problem here is that the silicone strap may not fit a weaker hand. And that was exactly my case. At the wrist, the diameter of the hand protruded unsightly, and therefore wearing the watch was not comfortable at all, even though the strap is otherwise very pleasant. So the first thing I did after trying it was to replace it.

In the world of watchmaking, the strap holds the watch case in place. To manipulate them, you need a tool called a pick-up tool. However, time has moved on, and to make changing straps as easy as possible, the posts have outlets that you only need to pull and the strap will be released from the case. Simple as a slap in the face. It is just as easy to put on. Galaxy Watch4 have no contrivances as Apple Watch, which have the original strap attachment, so you can use any here. In the case of the 46mm Classic version, you only need to keep the strap width 20mm.

Intuitive operation

Although I was initially a little afraid of the 46mm size, in the end it is the perfect size. This is also due to the legs of the case, which do not extend significantly, so that they also fit on wrists with a diameter of 17,5 cm (after replacing the strap). The initial setting of the watch is actually very simple, which also applies to the degree of personalization of the dial to set it to your own image. Then you can start enjoying their convenience.

The original restrained opinion was replaced by quite a lot of enthusiasm. First of all, with the black PVD finish, the watch looks really great, elegant and understated. Their OLED display is just that big, and above all, it's really beautiful to look at. It's not the pixelated wilderness like Garmins, which is their biggest ailment. And that bezel…

Galaxy Watch4 is controlled via the touch screen, two buttons and the bezel itself. It is virtual in the basic model, but physical in the Classic model. I sincerely hope Samsung doesn't get rid of it in a future version, because not only is it a great feature, it looks great and feels great to handle even with wet or gloved hands, but by extending beyond the display, it also covers it. Perfect in every way.

Oh the stamina

There is no point in writing about everything the watch can and can't do. There are activities, measures of sleep, blood pressure, heart rate, EKG, stress, notifications from a connected device, the ability to install applications and so on and so forth. You can simply download everything from the product pages. But what is important is how much it eats.

Unfortunately, it eats a lot. Samsung claims up to 40 hours of battery life. Forget it. With Always On turned off, which I didn't like, and completely normal use, i.e. some activity, some measurement, constant monitoring of heart rate, receiving X notifications, you can last a classic day (not to be confused with 24 hours), and you will have a little left over. You don't have to worry about your watch running out of power before going to bed, it's definitely not.

Batteries limit all devices, be it mobile phones, tablets, laptops, TWS headphones or smart watches. Garmin is ahead in this regard, but it is also due to the display technology. It is not for nothing that they say that beauty costs something. But I am willing to accept this beauty tax. Galaxy Watch4 Classic are simply the ideal complement to a Samsung phone Galaxy, on which you will find few beauty spots. If they've already convinced a person who resisted anything clever on their wrist tooth and nail, they'll convince you too.
