Alza is increasing the number of carriers using the AlzaBox network for delivering parcels. After pilot testing, the DPD company is connected throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This cooperation allows the parcel carrier's customers to enjoy a convenient delivery method.

Alza has welcomed another partner, the parcel carrier DPD, to its open delivery box platform. "We are very pleased that after pilot testing DPD joined the entire AlzaBox network at the beginning of May in Slovakia and now also in the Czech Republic and became our next important external partner. We believe that this form of cooperation is the future of delivery, when the capacity of one box will be fully utilized by multiple suppliers," says Jan Moudřík, director of expansion and facilities at Alza.cz, adding: "Even now, third-party packages in the number of thousands of pieces per day make up a significant share of the total volume of shipments delivered via AlzaBoxy. Two-thirds of the delivered packages are still shipments from the Alza.cz e-shop, but at this rate the ratio will change significantly in the foreseeable future."

Currently, third-party shipments account for up to 30% of delivered packages in this network. However, AlzaBoxes in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary have a monthly delivery capacity of up to 5,5 million packages, and this number is also constantly increasing. According to a survey of e-shop customers, two-thirds of those interviewed consider AlzaBox to be the most popular method of transport, mainly due to time flexibility, simplicity and speed of delivery. In the areas of Praha-východ, Nymburk, Karviná, Teplice, Sokolov, Kutná Hora, Rokycany and Beroun there is enormous interest in this type of delivery, more than 70% of shipments go to the boxes here.  "This confirms our assumption that dispensing boxes are an ideal logistics solution thanks to their convenience and the time flexibility they allow customers," adds Moudřík. "Their popularity continues to grow among customers, as well as among carriers, who thus expand the delivery options for their customers," he concludes.

By expanding its partner network, Alza.cz is working to make its delivery boxes an integral part of smart urban infrastructure and contribute to improving the quality of life of residents in their surroundings, especially in smaller municipalities. In this way, the created delivery capacity is not only used to the maximum, but also the traffic load, smog and noise are reduced.  Alza was the first to offer the free capacity of delivery boxes at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic to the logistics company Zásilkovna. Other partners connected to the AlzaBox network include Rohlík.cz and Slovak Parcel Service.
