Press Release: MEDDI hub as is a Czech company that develops telemedicine solutions, the goal of which is to enable communication between patients and doctors at any time and anywhere and to make it more efficient overall. In addition to the Czech Republic and other countries in Central Europe, the platform is now also reaping success in Latin America. The most recent project is cooperation with the Peruvian army and the implementation of the MEDDI solution for medical care on river "floating hospitals" and sea vessels.

Together with the Peruvian army, MEDDI hub is launching a health care project for river "floating hospitals" that care for patients in remote and inaccessible locations inland. The goal of the pilot project is to implement the MEDDI app for the NAPO river floating hospital, which treats over 100.000 patients annually on the Amazon and Ucayal rivers. The application will enable secure communication via video call between the doctor on board and specialist doctors at the mother military hospital on land. It will also help to streamline and speed up patient care on board through digital patient registration and medical records. The application will also contribute to reducing the mortality rate of pregnant women, which is high in these remote areas due to lack of care. The project will also include the installation of a hotspot in the local community and the use of MEDDI as another communication channel for population education and prevention. It is assumed that the use of the application will subsequently be extended to all six vessels that the Peruvian military uses in this way.

Another joint project with the Peruvian army is the implementation of the MEDDI app for medical care on military naval vessels. The pilot project will take place on the ship PISCO with a crew of 557 men. Their family members will also be able to use the application. Subsequently, it is planned to extend the cooperation to other military vessels, of which Peru has a total of 50 and a total of approximately 30.000 men serve on them. The application would also be made available to more than 150.000 family members. The main benefit of introducing the MEDDI app to medical care on military vessels will again be the possibility of secure communication with specialist doctors in the mother military hospital on land 24/7 and digital records of sailors and their medical records. It is assumed that the implementation of telemedicine in the health care of sailors will also reduce the costs of health care in the military, for example, by reducing the number of evacuations of patients from the ship to land by helicopter.

“For floating hospitals or naval vessels, telemedicine is a way to improve crew care quickly and really efficiently. At present, contact with specialists on land is very limited, as is any digital record of seafarers and their medical records. We believe that the use of our application in pilot projects will prove successful and the cooperation will be extended to all vessels during this and next year. In the future, we want to offer our solution to war fleets in Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile and the Dominican Republic," explains Jiří Pecina, founder and director of MEDDI hub.
