Qualcomm has finally revealed the date of its next Tech Summit event. This year, the annual technology event will take place from 14-17 november Although the company did not specify the venue, it will most likely be Hawaii again. The event is mainly expected to showcase the next flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. It is expected to power Samsung's next flagship series Galaxy S23.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will reportedly have an unusual configuration of 1+2+2+3 processor cores. It should have one Cortex-X3 core, two Cortex-A720 cores, two Cortex-A710 cores and three Cortex-A510 cores. It will reportedly include an Adreno 740 graphics chip. We can also expect a built-in 5G modem with the highest download and upload speeds and the latest wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi 6E or Bluetooth 5.3. The chipset will apparently be manufactured by TSMC's 4nm process. The first phones with it should be launched in December.
Although Samsung is said to be working on a new high-end chipset Exynos 2300, it is speculated that for the series Galaxy S23 won't be ready yet. According to other speculations, the Korean giant is not working on a new Exynos flagship chip and is developing a specialized one instead chip for high-end smartphones Galaxy, which it could introduce in 2025. In that case, its flagships would exclusively use Snapdragon chips for the next two years.
